You will recall that the Enviromatal Task Force were in Ota in the course of the week, where they seal off some premises. This action was met with protest and restrictions from many residence (this almost degenerated but for the timely intervention of the Local Government Chairman) claiming that they were not properly informed about the waste disposal policy of the government and that refuse disposal trucks do not come to pick their refuse often as they should.
The chairman who spoke to our correspondence in office on Friday, said his administration will take environmental sanitation as a major task and efforts are in the pipeline to launch an intensive campaign and sensitization on the issues of making our environment clean and how to dispose off refuse without creating frictions with the necessary authorities.
